The Suit Up & Soar Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit proudly launched by WHATSUITSHIM, dedicated to uplifting metro Detroit’s youth athletes through a transformative combination of athletics, mentorship, and community engagement. We believe that excellence begins with confidence – whether suited up for the game or dressed up for success in life.
With initiatives extending far beyond the basketball court, Suit Up & Soar promotes holistic development, pairing on-court skill building clinics and fundraising competitions with meaningful professional development sessions, suit drives, and mentorship opportunities with coaches and community leaders. Our programs emphasize tailored confidence and athletic elevation, providing young athletes with the tools to excel professionally, athletically, and socially.
Suit Up & Soar is also home to the impact initiatives for the upcoming documentary SHOCKWAVE: The Rise + Fall of a Detroit Dynasty, which chronicles Detroit’s rich legacy in women's basketball and the WNBA. Through these initiatives, the foundation deepens its commitment to gender-neutral, inclusive programming that fosters resilience, ambition, and community pride, empowering Detroit’s youth to not just dream big, but to confidently soar toward their goals.
